How Momence Works for Yoga Teachers: Free Setup in One Afternoon
Momence is the booking tool we recommend to teachers starting from zero, for one reason: it costs nothing until students actually book. This is the honest analysis — including when "free" stops being cheap — and the exact five steps from signup to a bookable class link in your Instagram bio.

The 20-second verdict
Best for: new teachers with a $0 budget and unpredictable income
Price: free plan (~5% + ~4% per sale) · Pro ~$60/mo
Setup time: one afternoon, no website needed
Switch when: class revenue passes ~$400/mo
The analysis: why this is the right first tool
Every other serious booking tool charges a monthly fee whether students show up or not. Momence flips that: the starter plan is free, and it takes a cut only when someone pays you. For a teacher with three students and no idea whether online classes will work, that is exactly the right risk profile — the tool only earns when you do.
The trade-off is the math as you grow. Percentage fees scale with revenue; flat fees don't.
Why teachers pick it
- $0 until you have real bookings
- Booking page included — no website needed
- Class packs, memberships, and Zoom links built in
- Room to grow: on-demand video and paid plans later
Worth knowing
- Built for all fitness — more dashboard than you need
- Fees grow with revenue (see chart above)
- Some support complaints since the 2025 acquisition
- Studios should compare studio platforms instead
The tutorial: signup to bookable link in 5 steps
Step 1 — Create your account and host profile
Sign up as a "host" (Momence's word for teachers and studios). Add your name, a short bio, and one good photo — this becomes the top of your public booking page. Skip everything optional; you can polish later.
Step 2 — Add your class schedule
Create each class once and set it to repeat weekly. For every class, set: name students understand ("Slow Flow — all levels" beats "Vinyasa II"), duration, capacity, price, and location — or attach your Zoom link for online classes, which students receive automatically after booking.
Step 3 — Connect payments
Connect your bank through the payments setup (Stripe-powered). This is the step that ends payment-app chasing forever: students pay at booking, money lands in your account, and every no-show has already paid. Set up one class pack too — a 10-class pass at a small discount is the single best attendance tool you have.
Step 4 — Put the booking link where students are
Copy your public page link and put it in your Instagram bio, your WhatsApp status, and your email signature. This replaces the whole DM-to-book dance — a student sees your story at 11pm and books in two taps while motivated. No website required.
Step 5 — Switch on the automations
Enable booking confirmations and class reminders (24 hours and 1 hour before). This is the quiet fix for the no-show problem — the tool remembers so you don't have to. Done: you now run on the same system studios pay hundreds a month for.
When to move on
Momence free is a starting line, not a destination. When your monthly class revenue passes roughly $400, the percentage fees overtake a ~$34 flat fee — upgrade to Momence Pro (~$60/mo, reduced fees) or switch to Punchpass. If you'd rather have booking, website, and email in one subscription, look at OfferingTree. The full math is in the booking software comparison, or answer five questions in the Stack Finder.
